
IDEOLOGY TRAINING
The purpose of SEWA Ideology Training is to make the members aware about SEWA Sangathan, SEWA movement, its values, importance and strength of SEWA union and the position of women in the informal economy at large.
Objectives
· To reach out to maximum members
· To add more members in the union and to strengthen it.
· To provide more and more information about SEWA and its objectives to the people.
· To strengthen SEWA values among its members.
· To identify problems faced by members and to solve them.
· To identify grassroot leaders.
Plan of The Training
Through the Ideology Training, SEWA Delhi aims to reach out to its entire membership, which amounted to 28,024 women informal workers in the year 2009. Ideology Training sessions are conducted in all the slum and resettlement colonies where SEWA Delhi works. The training is focused on specific programs keeping in mind the target beneficiary.
Methods of Training
Trainings are based on interactive methods where members are encouraged to participate and share their problems (both individual and community). This not only helps in increasing their confidence but also strengthens their relationship with SEWA.
Outcome of the Training
• Members feel an integral part of a large SEWA Sangthan.
• Enhancement of knowledge about SEWA Programmes and benefits.
• Helps members to internalize SEWA values.
• Helps strengthen the feeling of unity among the members.
• Helps strengthen the integrated approach of SEWAs intervention in various areas.
